Events

The Mardyke Valley Rotary Club is always planning and running events. Some examples are listed below

Cycle Marathon

• Usually the first week in June because of the Jubilee
  Riders choose between 7, 21 or 42 mile routes. Riders pay a fee and raise money for their own charities. The fee covers the costs and is split between the Rotary Club and the riders' charities. This year's cycle marathon raised over £11,000
  
  

Card Collection

• Rather than send each other Christmas cards, Rotarian's collect for "Give-a-Gift"
  This in turn supports the buying of gifts for young people in need in Thurrock
  
  

Christmas Raffle

• Raffle prizes donated by sponsoring companies and Rotarian's
  This has raised over £1,600 for Rotary charities
  
  

Sleigh Collection

• Collected over 12 night, supported by volunteers from local charities.
  We invite local charities to collect with us. The total from the nights is then divided between Rotary and the charities who have been out collecting with us. In 2022, we collected over £7,000 with £500 going to each charity. Some years we also collect outside Morrisons in Grays. The Morrisons collection day is split between the Rotary charities and the Morrision's charity.
